Dr. Churnrurtai Kanchanachitra is an expert on public health and health policy as well as academic research. After gaining her Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Dr. Kanchanachitra became a Policy and Plan Analyst for the Social Project Division of the National Economic and Social Development Board in Thailand. She later on pursued a Master’s in Economics and a PHD in Sociology. After completing her graduate studies, she advanced in her career as a policy analyst with a concentration in the health field. Her skills and expertise in policy and health earned her various leadership roles such as being the Head of the Health Program and Project Sector at the Social Project Division, the President of the Vice President’s Forum Coordination Committee of the University Mobility in Asia and Pacific (UMAP) and the Chair of the Asian-European Academic University Partnerships Network (ASEA-UNIT).

Dr. Kanchanachitra’s experiences in the field also gained her various consultancies for the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS). Her interest in academics has lead her to undertake professorships and lecturing positions at the Institute for Population and Social Research in Mahidol University, Thailand. She has authored and co-authored at least 25 publications in Thailand and internationally.
